Issues with CTFs which turned out to be problems with display of year groups in Data Management part of ROL site. ~ managed to import Y5 children and contextual and performance data.  Looked at how to moaderate targets.  Also studied target setting reports. ~ note that 2008 KS1 data still not showing in TS but is in Reports and Analysis/School Forward Reports

03/11/20093 School Training 1 - Autumn 2009WeatherallsData management/nov formctf created from sims.  Imported succesfully into Raiseonline.  Dipped into target setting
Creating cft not an issue for the school - admin have the expertise if school want to repeat this next year.  Import into Raiseonline succesful on first attempt.  Report showed correct number of pupils.  Looked to see if pupils showed up in target setting area and set targets using top 50% and top 25%.  Next visit booked for 23rd November 1 to 2pm
Lisa JudeAnn said this process easily manageable by school.  It was quick and easy.  Ann will review the targets on Raiseonline alongside those on target setting spreadsheet.Ann Bevan

10/11/20094 School Training 2The Vine PAccess TS and generate targetsROL Target Setting page unavailable
Helen worked with the three Year 5 teachers to set targets for EoKS.  As ROL was unavailable we worked in their tracking system (Primary Target Tracker).  Targets for two subjects were completed. Another session will need to be arranged to go back and transfer these targets into ROL. Next session booked for 13.00 on 11/12/09

30/11/20094 School Training 2WeatherallsAccess TS and generate targetsTargets for English and Maths entered.  Reports run. Filters used and different settings for targets.
Easy to pick up students imported - just need to remember that Academic year is year ending.  Data entry straightforward though no import facility from Excel which is a shame.  The 3 available reports easy to run and filters easy to use.  Colour coding only on 'not L4+ in English & Maths'.  Would be useful if colour coding extended to other columns.  A little clunky in that you can't do all pupils in one go - you have to do them in batches of about 20.  No problems encountered though.  Positive outcome.
Lisa JudeAS per consultant comment.  Would like colour coding throughout.  Feels that this could be a useful tool and easy to use.Ann Bevan

11/12/20094 School Training 2 (Part 2)The Vine PTargets to ROLTargets were moved from Primary Target Tracker to ROL
We had hoped that bringing in Reading and Writing targets would automatically create English targets but this didn't happen. Not sure if this was supposed to be like this or a problem with the site.  More research required. Action Point for next time: need to update PTT from SIMS before starting the export process to ensure that exactly the same cohort of children are being dealt with. File from PTT would not upload with KS data included. CSV file had to be saved in a "specific way" but this was not defined on ROL site.  Lots of issues with split levels at Level 2 not importing.  Still need a short session in the Spring to complete the job and look at the analysis reports. David Jones' considerable ICT skills were very necessary to the successful importing here.  Teacher with average ICT skills would have struggled.
